·       Exploring the premises upon which the arguments of Richard Dawkins – fiercely rigorous and well-practised in his anti-faith polemic – are built, in a bid to learn how to counter them most effectively

·       Appreciating how Dawkins’ understanding of scientific proof has nothing in common with the so-called proofs for the existence of God from the scholastic period.  (Dawkins’ parody of Anselm’s ontological argument will be considered in detail.)

·       Challenging Dawkins’ contention that the whole of reality is ultimately explainable in terms of science and reason.  How scientific is this contention? What, exactly, is the relationship between science and religion?
